2015 Easter Message to Canada Archdeaconry

What a commitment to redemption and salvation of man! Jesus was nailed to the cross, a gruesome death reserved for the worst criminal. The Son of God endured the shame. It was a time of sorrow for all around him including his disciples and his biological brothers. He died, buried and on the third day, he rose again from the death. Death could not hold him captive. Jesus moved from death to life. This is our message this Easter season - Christ is risen and truly he has risen indeed!

2015 Easter Message to Mid-Atlantic Archdeaconry

Our mother once told us of a prominent Lagos family, well endowed. This family had a child who was not allowed to go through suffering. When he was in the elementary school, at break time, a nanny would bring lunch from home, set a table for him and take back the remnant. He was treated like a prince. Enough money was kept for his education, even to medical school. However, he barely struggled to finish high school.

2015 Easter Message to Mid-West Archdeaconry

Happy Easter to you all, members of our beloved Midwest archdeaconry in the Missionary Diocese of the Trinity (MDT). It gives us great joy to write to you on this resurrection day. It was and is the day when death was turned to life, failure to success, shame to fame and disappointment to favor. It is the day that changed the human history and story for good. Today, we can shout and sing and rejoice with a hope that death is never the finality to our lives.

2015 Easter Message to North-East Archdeaconry

On behalf of our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. A. Fagbamiye and his wife, My wife and I bring you Easter Greetings: "He is risen! Hallelujah! The tomb is empty! Jesus is alive!"  Indeed, thisEaster Sunday approximately one-third of the world's population will pause to celebrate the most significant event since the creation of the universe. The Easter celebration marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It was a day unlike any other... a defining day that serves to split all of humanity into those who are redeemed by faith in Him and those who are not. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). His claim is either true or false. It's indisputable that He made this statement, knowing exactly what He was saying.

2015 Easter Message to the Cathedral

No doubt we are familiar with whole episode of the arrest, trial, crucifixion, burial and then the resurrection of Jesus. The question we may ask ourselves as followers and believers of Jesus is ‘how much of the ‘resurrection story’ makes sense and meaning to us to believe otherwise, we are not different from those described as, “And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them,” (Luke 24:11). Is resurrection story idle tale to us or a true story of God’s power?
