2016 Easter Message to the South Archdeaconry

Beloved in Christ,

My wife and I joyfully bring you the Good News of Easter. The Lord is risen; He is risen indeed. Halleluiah! “The strife is over, the battle done; now is the Victor’s triumph won,” “and the promise is fulfilled.”

I thank God who has brought us to another Easter day, when we commemorate the undeniable conquering of death, sin, and the devil by our Savior Jesus Christ. On Good Friday, when we saw the Captain of our salvation engaged with the powers of darkness, victory seemed to hover between the combatants; it inclined to the enemy’s side and our Champion fell before them. Our Lord Jesus Christ went gloriously down to death, in spite of the malice of His enemies who did all they could to make his death ignominious, but His body saw no corruption, and on the dawn of Sunday morning, He rose again more glorious. The Prince of Peace coming out of the grave, a conqueror, a mighty warrior.

With this we are assured that neither wickedness, nor death, nor denial, nor betrayal, nor injustice, nor even the evil of mankind would prevail over the divine plan of God for us.

Christ’s resurrection is our assurance of hope of God’s redemptive work for all mankind who believe in Him; “That everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him” (John 3:15).

I urge all of you, as you celebrate this Easter, to believe and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, who is the perfect and finisher of our faith. Happy Easter!
