2015 Easter Message to the Cathedral

Dearly beloved in Christ!

Another Easter is here and we have many reasons to give thanks to God and praise Him for being alive. We have passed through the Lenten season more or less a ‘winter season,’ denying ourselves as much as we could of pleasures, food, drinks, social life and so forth, but praying more, attending Lenten services on every Wednesday and having more time for meditation and communizing with God, all for our spiritual growth. Now it is time to be joyful and celebrate because “Jesus has died, Jesus is risen and Jesus will come again.” Alleluia! His resurrection gives us the full assurance of His lordship; full assurance of our victory in Christ Jesus over death and that salvation to eternal life is only in Him, by Him and through Him. He is the Redeemer and Messiah of the world. Alleluia!

No doubt we are familiar with whole episode of the arrest, trial, crucifixion, burial and then the resurrection of Jesus. The question we may ask ourselves as followers and believers of Jesus is ‘how much of the ‘resurrection story’ makes sense and meaning to us to believe otherwise, we are not different from those described as, “And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them,” (Luke 24:11). Is resurrection story idle tale to us or a true story of God’s power?

As we celebrate Easter, may God roll away the stone and all roadblocks on our paths to success, freedom, peace and good health and everlasting eternal life; and like the two disciples going to Emmaus, may our eyes be open and our heart continually burn within us that we may believe that Jesus is risen and He is risen indeed.

On behalf of Mama MDT and my humble self we thank you all for your prayer, support and for all your invaluable individual and collective contributions to the growth of this Cathedral. Happy Easter to you all.
