2017 Easter Message for Emmanuel Anglican Church

Beloved in Christ,

My wife and I joyfully bring you the Good News of Easter. “Good Christian men, rejoice and sing! Now is the triumph of our King: To all the world glad news we bring: Alleluia!”

We are rejoicing today when we commemorate the undeniable conquering of death, sin, and the devil by our Savior Jesus Christ. On Good Friday, our Captain, our General submitted to the power of death, and his enemy the devil rejoiced in the defeat, but for two days, and on the third day, our Champion, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace coming out of the grave a conqueror, a mightier warrior, who gloriously, and victoriously have taken the keys of hell and that of heaven. And today, He is sitting at the right hand of his throne.

With his resurrection, we are now assured that neither wickedness, nor death, nor denial, nor betrayal, nor injustice, nor the evil of mankind, nor even the devil himself would prevail over the divine plan of God for us.

Christ’s resurrection is our assurance of hope, it is the redemptive work for all mankind who believe in Him; “That everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him” (John 3:15).

As you celebrate this Easter, we believe that you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, who is the perfect and finisher of our faith. Happy Easter!

Archdeacon Martyn and Mama Mercy Anagbogu.
