2017 Easter Message for Diocesan Lay Ministers and Evanglests
Beloved in Christ,
Easter Celebration is here again. It is a season of celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The bishop of Anglican Diocese of the Trinity, His lordship The Rt. Rev. Amos Fagbemiye and his wife Mrs. Abike Fagbemiye (Mama ADOTT) have directed me to bring their greetings of goodwill across to you and your household on this special occasion.
Indeed every Sunday of the week is a lesser Easter but Sunday after the Palm Sunday is better called THE EASTER DAY. The celebration is where our faith anchored and is the core feast for Christians. Please note that without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there will be no Christianity and our preaching will be useless so also is your faith.
His death and resurrection brought MERCY and GRACE to mankind. Mercy means God not giving us what we deserve and Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. Hallelujah.
Thanks be to God who gives us these through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus assured us his followers that because he lives we also will live (see John 14:19). What this means is that His followers are guaranteed eternal life. St Paul also added “Therefore my brother and sisters stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. I Cor. 15:58.
May the joy of this victory over death continue to keep your faith active and alive as you serve Him in your various Parishes within the Diocese.
Happy Easter to you and your household!
Venerable John I. Onuorah,
Diocesan Chaplain
