2026 New Year message from the Diocesan Bishop of The Anglican Diocese of the Trinity (ADOTT) The Rt Rev Dr Olukayode Adebogun

01st January 2026

To all ADOTT Clergy and Laity &

The Christian Faithful

Dearly Beloved in Christ,

2026 New Year Message

To God be the glory for the great things He has done. 2025 is now behind us, and by the mercy of God, He has preserved our lives. The Lord preserved our families and our children. Despite all the challenges and struggles we faced—individually and corporately, at home, at work, and within our society—God has proven Himself faithful to you and faithful to me. Therefore, we return all glory and honor to Him alone.

I congratulate each and every one of you whom God has preserved to witness the year 2026. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

On behalf of my family and everyone associated with the Anglican Diocese of the Trinity (ADOTT), I warmly wish you a happy, happy, happy New Year. It is my prayer that God Himself will bless you abundantly in this new year. May the Lord guide you, direct you, and lead you in the path you should go.

Our Scriptural Focus for 2026

As a Diocese, our focus for this year is drawn from Exodus 32:26: “And Moses stood at the entrance of the camp and said, ‘Whoever is for the Lord, come to me.’ And all the Levites rallied to him.” Our second guiding passage is Joshua 24:15: “And if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

These are two profound and decisive passages of Scripture. Moses challenged the people of God to take a clear stand for the Lord. He called them to put aside whatever had happened in the past and to align themselves fully with God. Likewise, Joshua called the people to make a deliberate choice concerning their allegiance and devotion.

A Call to Commitment:

In this new year, the Lord is seeking men and women who will surrender their totality to Him. God is looking for those He will use to fulfill His divine agenda for this generation. He is calling for men and women who will boldly declare, “I am on the Lord’s side.”

God is looking for vessels unto honor—lives He can transform and use for His glory. The question before us is this: Will you be enlisted in that camp? Will you be part of that army? Will you respond like Joshua and declare, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”?

As a Diocese, this is our determination and our commitment for 2026. In the Anglican Diocese of the Trinity, we resolve to stand for the Lord in righteousness and holiness, and to do all that the Lord is asking of us.

This is my admonition to all of you across the Diocese—to every parish, every clergy and their families, and all our faithful laity. The Lord is saying to us today: “My son, My daughter, align your life with Me.”

And as we do so, the Lord promises:

• I will uphold you.

• I will strengthen you.

• I will keep you.

• I will fulfill My purpose in you and through you.

My prayer for you is that the purpose of God will be fulfilled in your life this year. My prayer is that the Lord will strengthen, establish and keep you faithful. May 2026 be the year you stand firmly on the Lord’s side and may you and your household serve the Lord wholeheartedly.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the God of heaven lift up the light of His countenance upon you and grant you peace— peace in your heart, peace in your home, and peace in all that you lay your hands upon. And may the blessing of God Almighty—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit— remain with you and all that is yours, now and forevermore.

Brothers and sisters, Happy New Year, and may God richly bless you.

With blessings and peace,

Your brother and Bishop,

The Rt. Rev Dr. Olukayode Adenola Adebogun

Diocesan Bishop,
